Now that we have made it through the first month of school, Ms. Carey and I have really been able to get to know the students. We have been concentrating on differentiating instruction. That means we are doing our best to teach each child at their level and at their learning style. This day the picture was taken, Ms. Carey used researched based Bloom's Taxonomy higher level questioning techniques in the form of a Jeopardy game. The students loved it! It is amazing (one of our vocabulary words this past week) when you can actually see the light bulb go on in a student's head. The fact that the students are having an exciting time is the cherry on top!
I find that Ms. Carey always has such an upbeat and fun attitude around the children, it is infectious. If we are in the classroom, recess, or walking down the halls, her positive yet professional presence and ability to reach the students at their level is a natural gift.
